Artist Management
Day to day representation, career planning, negotiation and the coordination of everyone an artist works with. The job is to make the artist's decisions easier and better informed.
International Artist Management · Music Direction · Songwriting
Twenty years of building artists and the careers around them. Music direction for national television, three Eurovision cycles, songwriting, and the slow work of artist development. Based in Tel Aviv, trained in Paris, now working toward Berlin and the German-speaking market.
The work
A good song opens a door. What decides whether an artist is still working in five years is everything around it, and most of that is unglamorous.
Repertoire chosen with a cold eye. A live show that survives a bad room. Knowing which market will actually take this artist, and which one is a polite waste of a year. Tamir Hitman has spent two decades on that side of the desk, as a music director for Israeli national television, as a songwriter, and as the person sitting with an artist at two in the morning deciding whether the second verse earns its place.
The approach has not changed much. Start with identity, because nothing downstream works without it. Then repertoire, then performance, then the market. In that order, every time.
Expertise
Day to day representation, career planning, negotiation and the coordination of everyone an artist works with. The job is to make the artist's decisions easier and better informed.
Identity, repertoire, vocal and stage work, visual direction. The part of the process that takes the longest and gets skipped the most often.
Music direction for television and live formats, song selection, arrangement decisions, lyric writing and adaptation across languages.
Deciding which markets are worth an artist's time, then building the relationships, the material and the timing that make an entry credible rather than opportunistic.
Eurovision Song Contest
Eurovision is not one skill. Writing a French adaptation, guiding an artist through a national selection and preparing someone for the stage in May are separate problems with separate people to convince.
The focus now is the German-speaking market. Germany runs the largest recorded music economy in Europe and has a Eurovision culture with real institutional memory behind it, from the Ralph Siegel era through to the current SWR selection. For an artist with an international story to tell, there is no more interesting room in Europe to be working in.
Artists & collaborations
Management, development, songwriting and creative guidance. The shape of each collaboration differs, and the artists page says plainly which is which.
International
Training in Paris. Songwriting in French. Live projects in Europe, including Berlin. Performance work in Canada and the Philippines. Festival juries around the Mediterranean. None of it was a grand plan, and all of it turned out to be the same skill.
Music management and strategy studied at IMM Paris, French-language songwriting for two Eurovision projects, and live work in Europe including Berlin.
Live performance and professional activity in two markets with very different relationships to pop music, which is a useful thing to have felt first hand.
International performance details are presented as professional biography information supplied by the artist.
A career starts with identity. Then strategy, repertoire and performance all have to point the same way.Tamir Hitman
